Perhaps the Time Capsule gets along better with Leopard than with Tiger, which I'm using, but three days into owning this thing I truly regret the purchase.1. I have to connect to the router and mount the hard drive manually each time--even when the computer wakes from sleep. I had no problem at all with the $20 Netgear router I used for the last 5 years. There are frequent crashes, which have necessitated rebuilding my iTunes library. Road apple. This takes forever.2. It's not much good as a hard drive. I don't think this is something I'm doing wrong.
As a wireless router, it's disappointing. It won't connect with my MacBook at login. Should have stuck with it.So, while I bought this in the hopes that it would simplify and speed up my computing, it did exactly the opposite. Steer clear.

I had to search the net to find info on how to correctly setup the router. It has been working fine so far. I have been using the Time Capsule for its NAS like features. I was also disappointed in the speed at which I am able to copy files to and from the device. Although, I would like to note that it wasn't the easiest thing to get setup. The installation documentation and help menu did not provide much detail at all. I was able to transfer files quicker on my previous setup where I had a Windows PC sharing a USB drive. Overall, I think it does ok as a poor mans NAS.
I bought the Time Capsule after returning 2 seagate drives that i wanted to back up two macs to. easy setup. that was a disaster. the TC works very well. not perfect, sometimes it does some weird things thus 4 instead of 5 stars. but overall it's solved my issues.
Originally, I was hesitant to buy because of some reviews I had read. I run my G5 quad off ethernet and the laptops in the house run off wifi. I'm glad I bought the Time Capsule. It set up and worked flawlessly. Backup is seamless. Initial backup takes some time, but patience is a virtue, not everything in life is like a drive thru window.
